Pregnancy Care & High-Risk Pregnancies
Specialized pregnancy care for maternal safety and healthy fetal development in high-risk pregnancies.
Medical monitoring during pregnancy is essential for the smooth and safe progression of the pregnancy. That’s why, after the first visit to the gynecologist to confirm the pregnancy, a series of follow-up appointments is scheduled throughout the pregnancy to ensure that the embryo is developing properly.
The frequency of the visits depends on how the pregnancy progresses. However, as a general rule, check-ups are scheduled every 4 weeks up to the 32nd week. From the 32nd to the 36th week, the frequency increases to every 2 weeks, while during the last month, the pregnant woman is asked to attend on a weekly basis.
High-risk pregnancies are defined as those in which either the mother or the fetus is at greater risk compared to pregnancies with a normal physiological progression. This also includes pregnancies that carry a higher likelihood of resulting in the birth of a child who may present with a health problem directly related to the pregnancy or the delivery.
